6 1/2" headlamp unit in military green with blackout hood over lens cover with ut out/holes for head and side light. Complete with lighting and charging switch panel (U39) and ammeter, equivalent to the Lucas DU42 model. 6" glass aperture. The DU42 lamp is similar to the later MU42, but with a different rim fixing. The DU42 was widely used pre 1947, when the MU42 was introduced. Supplied without bracket and cable. Suitable for all WD machines, BSA, AJS, Matchless, Norton, Royal Enfield and Triumph. British pre-focus light unit with flat lens cover and 8 x 95mm slot cut out under 120mm wide, 75mm long and 40mm (max) high hood. Light unit retained in chrome rim with three headlamp wires. Complete with 6V British pre-focus P36D bulb with twin transverse filament and wired bulb holder. Also BA9S pilot light bulb in wired bulb holder behind 6 hole pattern in lens cover. Rim catch arrangement is a hinged flap with a rolled end that latches around the front of the rim, plus a stud that locates in the rim. Two side bolt fixing - approx 160mm minimum mounting width required. 150mm lens aperture, 175mm max rim diameter, 240mm max length including hood.
