The Clayton heater was used in 1960's Jaguar saloons and cars from Daimler, Alvis, Lea Francis, Armstrong Siddeley, Rover and the Land-Rover S1. It is also very similar to the Smiths unit fitted to Morris, TR3, Austin-Healey and Jaguar XK. Inlet/Outlet water pipes are at a 90 degree angle on this unit. This is a single speed 12V motor. Heater element with motor plate. This is a replacement for the Smiths circular heater element with straight pipes and motor plate. Picture shows motor plate side of element. The elements Smiths originally made were of three depths - 2 1/4", 3" and 4". This replacement is 2 5/8" in depth but comes with three new clips which enable you to reassemble your heater with the new element. A small adjustment to the fan position on the motor shaft may be required. This type of heater was fitted to many classic cars including Morris Minor, Land Rover Series I & II etc.
Clayton heater electric fan - single shaft 1/4" diameter. 12 volt fan motor for Clayton Heaters. Three hole fixing, with the mounting plate in the middle of the motor. Can rotate in either direction. It is insulated and can be used on either Pos. or Neg. earth vehicles. Please note that the supplier makes this from a motor with a double ended shaft by cutting off one end.
